Testimonials
To all of HOT GOSPEL – You provided a wonderful example of the power of music as part of faith last night. We have rarely seen so many people in our chapel. Quite a few have probably never been in a church for many years and they could not fail to see how committed you all were to encouraging others to join you in ’the journey’. Rachel and I particularly loved the dynamics of your pieces and the close relationship you have with the band. The eye contact between the MOM and the musicians was at the heart of the start and finishes of each piece and the continuity from Antoine’s keyboard playing subtly under the intros and prayers and then leading into the next song was brilliant. We also loved the way the arrangements allowed the choir to show off their versatility. Thank you for a wonderful evening of music and living faith….Gordon and Rachel

Pastor Jim has asked me to write to you all to thank you for such an awesome concert on the 24th September. Everyone we spoke to thoroughly enjoyed the evening with such uplifting and powerful songs. Wow - much better than we could have ever imagined. I am sure you made a big impact amongst all those attending, we do have an "interest" from one young man who was there - you really touched him and he says he's going to come along to our church.

Well, thats what it was all about!!

Wishing you all a successful future wherever the music takes you.

Many many thanks.

Hot Gospel came to Beverley and gave a concert to raise money for poor children in West Africa. I had expected them to be good, but I was taken aback by how good they were. They were ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Musically, they were Professional with a capital "P". Well-rehearsed yet with moments of spontaneous flair, the gifted individual voices combined to make a sound that seemed to be more than the sum of its parts. Though the backing musicians were skilful and creative, it was the vocals that made the biggest impression. The combined sound was MORE than music. The choir didn't just sing. They poured out their hearts, filling the melodies with passion and spirit. The natural beauty of the soloists' voices blended beautifully with the rich harmonies and the power of a large choir. The arrangements of well-known gospel songs were inspiring, creative and memorable. Most of all, the power that seemed to emanate from the stage was truly awe-inspiring. The audience were caught up in the magic. The most unlikely people were clapping along, singing, even dancing! I don't think there was a person in the audience who wasn't deeply moved. It really was an amazing experience! - John Benyon ABC Children's aid

Hi to everyone from Hot Gospel
Just to say a massive thank you again to you all for taking the time to come and bless us in Goole with your amazing ministry.

I know that it was a fund-raising event, but it truly was a night of praise and worship and we so very much appreciate that you came and gave us such encouragement.

And just so you know, the event raised £1122.00 and we were able to make a clean profit of £715, which for our church is absolutely HUGE, if you know what I mean.

God's richest blessings to you all and hopefully you will be able to return in a year or so???

Our association with Hot Gospel Choir began in late 2007,our then piano player and a member of the Choir, introduced me to Helen, who was at that time looking to move the Choir into a suitable venue in Hull for rehearsals. Helen and her family then started coming to St John’s at a time when we were meeting in a local primary school, during the first phase of our redevelopment project. Since then the relationship between the Church and Hot Gospel Choir has grown stronger, so that it is now much more a partnership than a business relationship. During the last 2½ years, there have been various ‘crossovers’ including Antoine (HGC keyboard player and now our keyboard player and Churchwarden), Godwin (our former youth leader, now a lead singer of the HGC) and Mike (a new Christian who has recently joined both the Church and the Choir). Two other members of St John’s have also been part of the Choir at different times – namely Nomsa and Abby. We believe that this relationship is mutually beneficial. We support one another in prayer, and have come to regard HGC as part of our Church family.

"A great night. A well chosen range of songs full of life, love, energy and joy, with readings from scripture and a personal testimony. An unforgettable evening. A mixture of technical excellence, and spiritual exuberance. An opportunity to learn more of the Lord Jesus, who inspires these wonderful songs. An evening that everyone can enjoy whatever their spiritual outlook."
