The purpose of the Music Ministry is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through song, encourage believers in their walk with Christ, lead the audience in worship and provide an avenue through which individuals may share their gift and be an integral part of the worship.

The Music Ministry spreads the Word of God through music experiences.

Guidelines for the choir and musicians

The choir provides worshipful music for both performances within a church and at venues outside of the church.

Membership

The membership of the Choir shall consist of individuals, minimum 16 years of age, (except when accompanied by a parent) who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and possess a desire to serve God through the music ministry. All Choir members must agree to the terms and conditions applied in the choir handbook and by being an online member/active have accepted said rules.

Attendance

1. Members are expected to be present and on time for ALL rehearsals and performances. When this is not possible, it is the member’s responsibility to contact The Choir Director and advise them of the situation.

2. After two absences from rehearsals, an individual will not sing with the choir at the next performance unless there are exceptional circumstances and the Choir Director decides otherwise at their absolute discretion. Illness and work commitments during rehearsal times and holidays are all acceptable reasons for absence, but a leader must be notified of these when possible. If a member fails to do this they will be asked to leave. A choir member may take a maximum of 3/4 holidays in any one academic year September to July according to our term dates. We already have 15 weeks holiday per academic year.

3. After three absences not included in the above reasons, the choir member’s name will be deleted from the active choir membership, following communication stating such from the choir Secretary unless there are exceptional circumstances and the Choir Director decides otherwise at their absolute discretion.

4. Members are expected to remain on the stage for the duration of the performance or rehearsal.

5. Members are expected to arrive not less than ten (10) minutes before a rehearsal. If a choir member is persistently late they will be asked to leave the choir.

6. Members are expected to arrive not less than thirty (30) minutes before a performance. After this a choir member will not perform unless by prior arrangement.

1. Members are expected to be on time for all performances.

2. No member shall enter the stage after the choir has processed and the performance has begun.

3. Members are expected to refrain from gum chewing, eating, unnecessary talking or note passing during rehearsals or performance.
